‘Knitting pattern’ Articles

It’s here! I am finally figuring my way around the “designer” knitting world. Creating patterns is not for the faint of heart. It is a pretty big process to complete, and do well. I am starting small and will be working my way up to larger garments, but for now this pattern is available on Ravelry as Urban Bandit. If you are on Ravelry, please favorite any of my work that appeals to you! Thanks.

I love headbands, mainly because they cover up my hair’s flyaways, but I also like wearing them for style. I have designed the pattern and it is available through Ravelry as Urban Bandit. I am also planning to knit a couple more, in different colors, which I will be selling from Woolibear.

I wanted to share a little of what I’m working on this week.

Above: I cast on 240 stitches of Cascade Yarns Eco Wool this week for my latest design. I am making a long, button-up sweater, but it’s almost like a coat. I haven’t decided what to call it yet. We will have to see what emerges, and maybe the details will come to me.
Below: Two paintings of trees with beautiful, vibrant backgrounds for my studio. The green one is finished and signed, and I will finish up the purple one this week.

Above: The perfect Spring jacket. I was out shopping one day and this cute little jacket caught my eye. I had to have it, or rather, I had to make it! From there I cut out my own pattern pieces, deconstructed a pair of (very large) dress pants for material, and started to make this little jacket. With a crew-neck collar, four buttons which become hidden inside their enclosure, pockets, cropped sleeves, and a full liner, I am pretty impressed with how this has turned out. I need a few finishing touches and a hem, and this little number will be done!
Below: Just a beautiful picture of what is hanging in my closet; the things I make.

Whitney and I took a much needed vacation to Copper Mountain to go snowboarding this past weekend. Words can’t accurately describe the amount of fun that I had, and I’m not totally sure if my sides hurt from snowboarding, or laughing too much. I used my spare time as the perfect excuse to knit myself a hat. I have never made myself a knit hat before. I have a crocheted one that I made years ago, but it doesn’t seem to fit my style anymore. So I designed a pattern, made it, and now it is available for purchaseĀ on Ravelry as The Frisco. The yarn is Baby Alpaca Chunky from Cascade Yarns, in color 570, dark gray. It is so soft and a total dream to work with.
