Summer Breeze Skirt
Yesterday turned out to be a great day for photographing outside. The rain really held out until later on in the day, instead of raining on and off all day. Luckily, my friend Susan was available to model my clothing for me. So now everything I have in my Etsy shop is fresh, with great pictures!

This is my first, successful bag construction. It is a gift for Justin’s grandmother; who gave me the serger. I think the fabric print will suit her well, and hopefully she can get a lot of use out of it. If anything else; the needle case that goes along with it; will be a great way to organize knitting needles and supplies.

So I’m putting it out there for all of the world to see. Well, only on my site for the moment, but on Etsy soon. (As soon as I can convince one of my friends to put it on and model for the camera.) This is a total experiment that I tried to have fun with. I’m teaching myself to be a little less critical of what I create. What’s the point in doing anything creative if you can’t have fun with it? I’m getting a good chance to play around with the serger, and my new sewing machine. This skirt is made from an old sweater; with a handcrafted belt made of linen which includes a decorative stitch around the top; woven white ribbons sewn in place with buttons; and ruffles edges around the base. I am interested in what all of you think of this. Please leave me a comment. Criticism accepted! P.S. I want to take some better photos of this, possibly outside, but it’s been raining here for the past few days.
